Although philanthropy and social events are important aspects of Kappa Delta, an equal emphasis is placed on academic achievement. It is through scholarship and time management skills that we become well-rounded individuals who are prepared for the future. The sisters of KD strive for high academic achievement within our chapter. Many sisters are members of Order of Omega, the Greek Honor Society that recognizes Junior and Senior members of Greek organizations who have grade point averages at or above the All-Greek system average. Additionally, a number of girls consistently make the Dean's List.

Kappa Deltas want to see the world and make a difference. Our members take full advantage of the numerous study abroad programs and service-learning opportunities offered at Susquehanna. These programs take Kappa Deltas to sites both home and abroad, for short-term trips as well as semester-length studies. Recently, 3 Sophomore Sisters spent 2 weeks in New Orleans, Louisiana to help rebuild the city after the damage left by Hurricane Katrina. Currently 7 of Beta Upsilon's Junior Sisters are studying abroad in a variety of countries. Some of the places that our members have studied in or done service include:
- New Orleans, Louisiana
- Paris, France
- Australia
- Rome, Italy
- London, England
- Barcelona, Spain
- Washington, D.C.

Along with dedicating time to their studies, the women of Kappa Delta dedicate their time and commitment to activities beyond that of the sorority. Many girls are actively involved in other campus organizations and have achieved leadership and prestigious awards in other organizations. Kappa Delta actively encourages its members to excel in the campus community as well as athletics. Some of the organizations and activities that our members are involved in include:
