Sisterhood

  • Being apart of Kappa Delta, or any sorority, is an amazing once in a lifetime experience. Below, some of our current members and alumni share their memories of what Kappa Delta means to her.

"These letters don't make me better than you, they make me better than I used to be."

"Kappa Delta means having a group of friends who love you just the way you are. It means having a special bond with a group of girls. It means laughter, fun, love, and friendship."

-Shari Ann Arena, Class of 2014

“It’s about learning to love someone just as much as you love yourself. Getting to know someone better so you can discover who you are along the way. Accepting their flaws so you realize that no one is perfect. Sacrificing for them so you won’t be accustomed to being selfish. Giving each other faith to make their dreams into a reality. Filling in that empty gap so they can finally feel like a whole.”

"Kappa Delta meant being a part of something more than a club with uniform t-shirts. Joining the sorority gave me the confidence to not only participate in, but also take on multiple leadership roles in various university activities. Exclusive opportunities and the ability to network with those within the organization also allowed me develop and grow professionally. Being a part of Kappa Delta was not just learning the value of friendship, but also discovering that sisterhood is dreams shared, goals achieved, counting on others, but more importantly, being counted on.”

    -Kristen Konski, Alumna 2010

    "Being a Kappa Delta means...
having a family of big and little sisters, having someone that will always listen and having best friends to create memories with through the future."

    -Laura Brickely, Alumna 2010

"Throughout my experience in Kappa Delta I have met some of the most beautiful and talented young women who have become not only my friends, but my family. I have been able to learn and grow as an individual, most in part because of the lessons I have learned through these women. I am so thankful for the friendships I have built because of Kappa Delta and I am so lucky to have these people in my life. The laughs, tears, stories and experiences I have gained are priceless and would have never imagined I would have all of this by joining Kappa Delta."

    -Amy Hoffnagle, Alumna 2009

"Kappa Delta is my home away from home where all my friends are always
there for me, no matter the situation."

    -Abbie Handerhan, Alumna 2011

"Kappa Delta has become my home and the girls have become my family"

    -Laura Baumann, Class of 2013

"Kappa Delta isn't just a sorority. It's a special bond that a group of

girls share for a lifetime. It's staying up until two in the morning
just talking and late night snacking. It's picking one of your sisters
up when they fall down. It's laughing at the most ridiculous things.
It's helping a sister through a tough time. It's sharing clothes,
shoes, and accessories. It's the best decision I have come to make in
my life. Kappa Delta is my life."

    -Kimberly Rogers, Class of 2013

"Kappa Delta is a unique family that I will always be a part of--even long after I've graduated. Not everyone can say that, and that's what makes KD special."

    -Lauren Peterson, Alumna 2011

"Kappa Delta has given me a group of sisters like the big family I came from. It makes me feel at home everyday knowing that I have sisters there to make me laugh, cry, dance, sing, and be my silly self with everyday. I have found my lifelong friends in these group of girls that I will continue to be friends with even when we all are grown with babies. We will continue to have our girls night and reminisce about the greatest memories that we have made in Kappa Delta and college even long after we graduate. I will take with me for the rest of my life a trait from each of these girls, because while we all have very different personalities, each Kappa Delta sister carries beautiful characteristics in which makes our circle both unique and fabulous."
